Position Overview: Chief/Senior Accountant
The Chief/Senior Accountant at Adyard Abu Dhabi LLC will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting within the construction and Oil & Gas industries, with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are also essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
As a Chief/Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a range of critical financial tasks, including:
Monthly Closing and Reporting Package Completion
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial closing processes.
- Prepare and review the monthly financial reporting package, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and comply with GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage the reconciliation of all accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Balance Sheet Substantiation and Review
- Perform balance sheet substantiation, ensuring that all balances are properly supported and accurately reflected.
- Conduct thorough reviews of balance sheet accounts and identify any discrepancies or areas of concern.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues related to balance sheet accounts.
Variance Analysis (Actuals vs. Budget/Forecast)
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to compare actual financial results with budgeted and forecasted figures.
- Identify key drivers of variances and provide insights to management for decision-making.
- Prepare comprehensive reports that outline financial performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Support Internal and External Audits
- Assist in the preparation and execution of internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Support ICV (In-Country Value) audits and ensure compliance with local content requirements.
- Provide documentation and explanations to auditors, addressing any queries or concerns.
VAT Return Preparation and Filing
- Manage the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Review and validate VAT-related transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Stay updated on changes in VAT regulations and implement necessary adjustments to processes.
Contribute to Process Improvements
- Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and controls within the organization.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for the Chief/Senior Accountant position at Adyard Abu Dhabi LLC, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the construction or Oil & Gas industrial services industry.
