Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, called for unity across Nigeria's diverse regions to help restore the nation. Speaking at the wedding of Blessing Eyakenyi and her Ekiti-born partner Olumuyiwa Adewumi at the International Worship Center, Uyo, Governor Eno congratulated the couple and urged them to build a healthy marriage free from unnecessary interference. He emphasized the importance of self-reliance in marriage, encouraging the couple to learn and grow together independently.
Governor Eno also welcomed guests from various geopolitical zones, highlighting the positive relationship between Akwa Ibom and Ekiti states. He advised relatives and friends to allow the couple to face their challenges and grow together.
Seizing the occasion, Governor Eno advocated for unity and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, stressing the importance of cooperation and prayers for the nation's leadership. "Managing Nigeria is a daunting task," he said. "We must support our President and all his team, consistently praying for them."
Representing the President's wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Princess Gloria Akobundu, CEO of AUDA-NEPAD, congratulated the couple and expressed confidence that the union would be a source of joy for both families. She called for continued prayers for peace, unity, and the success of President Tinubu's government.
Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor and mother of the bride, expressed gratitude to God for the joyous event. She thanked Governor Umo Eno, his wife Pastor Patience, former Governor Udom Emmanuel and his wife Martha, and other dignitaries for attending and honoring the couple.
Delivering a sermon on "God's Expectations from Partners in Marriage," based on Ephesians 5:22-33, Pastor Sylvanus Ukafia of Insight Bible Church emphasized the importance of mutual respect and love in marriage.
